Kensington & Chelsea Commando Krav Maga- So it begins....

Commando Krav Maga instructor currently teaching in Kensington & Chelsea and across Central London. Call Paul on 077 33 44 32 31 to discuss your needs.

Want to learn self-defence? Worried about protecting yourself, your loved ones or even your property?'
Commando Krav Maga' is the close combat system of the Israeli special forces (e.g. Sayeret, Yamam etc). This system should not be confused with the Krav Maga systems that are only taught to civillians and are no longer in use by the IDF (Israeli Defence Force).

The system is easy and quick to learn and is based on natural and simple movements that can be remembered - these are 'triggered' by the bodies natural reactions/responses, to attacks and threats, which means they work well under stress.CKM is the fastest growing reality based self defence system in the world and is now taught and practised in 20 countries.
For more details on CKM visit the official websitehttp://www.commandokravmaga.com/html/index.htmlOr check out the UK CKM websitehttp://www.commandokravmaga.co.uk/

Come and train with an easy going instructor who is a qualified Level 3 REPS Personal Trainer. I have a background in Muay Thai after living and training in clubs all over Thailand.Private tuition available now across west and central London.

I'll start this blog by introducing myself. My name is Paul and I am Chief Instructor at Kensington & Chelsea Commando Krav Maga. I have been training in martial arts since the age of 8. Starting with a stint at Goju Ryu Karate, followed by traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu, then western kickboxing.

I then found Muay Thai. Known as the deadly art of 8 limbs due to the effective use of the fists, elbows, knees and shins. As this originates from Thailand and I had never been to that side of the world what better way to advance my knowledge than to head to the land of smiles itself. My plan was to move from camp to camp across the country spending several months at each of them. I trained at the mighty Fairtex gyms (www.fairtex.com) in Bangplee (Bangkok) and Pattaya. Home to countless former, present and future champions, both national and international. Along the way I also counted as home gyms such as Rawai Muay Thai (www.rawaimuaythai.com) on the southern tip of the beautiful Phuket and K1 fighter and Kings Cup winner Ole Lausen's Legacy Gym (www.legacygym.com) in isolated but equally beautiful Ubon. These were some of the best times of my life but physically definitely the hardest.

Before leaving for Thailand I had previously dabbled in a few "combatives", military unarmed combat systems but had been pretty unimpressed. A guy I knew at the time had just recently started something called "Krav Maga", pitched as the deadly martial art of Israeli Defence Force. Intrigued as I was, whilst away getting beaten up by a string of 15 year olds in dilapidated boxing rings across Thailand, I scoured the web searching and absorbing all I could find about this Krav Maga. As in all disciplines of martial arts there are 101 different organisations declaring that they are in fact the best and "will teach you how to kill a black belt in 3 months or less" as it were.

Upon my return to Her Majesty's Kingdom I decided to give one organisation in particular a go, Commando Krav Maga. Pitched as the Close Combat System of the Israeli Special Forces one is always skeptical about this sort of thing, except that is until I did some research on the founder. One Moni Aizik, former Israeli Judo & Jiu Jitsu champion, Israeli Commando, coach to former UFC champion Carlos Newton and to this day close combat instructor to units of the Israeli Special Forces. He teaches simple, effective techniques. No overkill, no death touches and no bull####. This was for me. As they say the rest is history.

As well as being a CKM instructor I am also a REPS level 3 personal trainer. Now at last I am bring CKM a reality system that can be applied by both men and women, by large and small to my home of Kensington & Chelsea. Currently teaching private students at often very early mornings (even on the weekend..thanks guys) and will be bringing public classes in the next couple of weeks.

I hope to meet up with you all soon.

Please feel free to give me a call or drop me an email anytime to discuss your requirements.

I live, teach and train in Kensington & Chelsea.
